In her our little minds were shaped. To serve our Nation Great.

The cradle low, the hands so few. The future, blurred and bleak.
3 - We humbly bow in gratitude. To all who chiselled us.
Their praises we shall sing always. Their memories still revered.
4 - From humble growth this school of ours. A pride of place has won.
Her children great in every clime Of Ghana's great domain.
5 - 0 Lord, to Thee we dedicate Accra Academy. Esse Quam Videri,
we say and Bleoo, Accra Aca.

1. Mr. Joseph Ammah-Tagoe said opening Prayer at approximately 5:10pm.
2. Update of last Meeting
Richard Antwi-Boasiako updated us on the receipt of a Tax ID# for the association. The application process was
completed and we now have one. The name was registered as Accra Academy Alumni During later discussions,
it was suggested that the name was a little too generic and non-specific. It will be modified in due course -
there was a limit to the number of characters. The choice of a new name was not finalized. It was to be researched
further and changed. At this point, all who were present introduced themselves.
Gilbert Boateng then gave us updates on the 91 Year-group issue (Year-group scratched from School Books).
Victor Quao had been contacted and he was going to look further into the issue. Christian Fleischer had also
been in touch with the current Headmaster, Mr. Ofori Adjei, who had taken up the issue and was making some inquiries.
It was decided that we would continue working with these two gentlemen and at the next meeting would decide whether
a satisfactory resolution had been attained. If not, it will be taken a step farther by taking it up with the
Board of Directors.
3. Association Formation
There was a discussion about the writing of a constitution to govern the alumni body and electing members for the
organization. Putting this out on the website will give all interested members the opportunity to come to that
meeting to offer their services and contribute to the growth of the organization. It was recommended that the
current members be the ones to form the board for the first year. There was no definite conclusion to this
suggestion. In the end, we decided to get as many generic constitutions and suggestions as possible so that by
the next meeting, where this would be the major topic on the agenda, all present will then make the final decision
regarding the constitution and elections. The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 3rd 2007.
A bank account was going to be opened ASAP with Richard Antwi-Boasiako and Andrew Fleischer as the joint
signatories on the account. All monies collected as dues and/or donations will be placed in this account.
Christian had a tax-exempt certificate that he will make available to us to take advantage of where applicable.
4. School/Ghana Alumni needs.
The Ghana alumni is still in need of :
o A fax machine
o A Panasonic copier
o Answering machine
o Scanner
The actual items requested can be found on the website: Accraacaalumni.com or by contacting Richard Antwi-Boasiako.
Some other alumni projects include
New Dormitories.
Landscape improvement
Improving drainage system.
The 77 year group gave an update on their tower clock project.
5. Other Matters.
Nii Sowa Kome (Now Known as Nikoi Kotei) discussed an article he had put together - Accra Aca is Calling.
Considerations as to how best to handle advertisements to involve the overall alumni body and philanthropists
in general were discussed.
Kenneth Kolembe brought to our knowledge his access to many different textbooks and other educational materials
that can be donated to the school or even other organizations that may find them useful. Would need help with
the shipping and handling. We would like any information or assistance in getting this over to Ghana.
Meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:35pm.
Refreshments/Get-Together Courtesy Richard Antwi-Boasiako and Gilbert Boateng. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

at the same location on 12/02/2006 at 3pm. (Months are Septermber, December, March, June)
Following up on what had been decided in the previous meeting, it was suggested that the dues are submitted
and all the expenses tracked. It was decided that the dues would be $10 a month, and it would be paid in
blocks of 3 months hence $30 due between or during meetings. Prof. Ebo Quainoo was unanimously appointed
to handle this task. It can be given to him in person or Mailed to:
Prof. Sam Ebo Quainoo, 1316 Livingston St., Bethlehem, PA 18017
3. Ghana Alumni
A few of the members present had been to Ghana and noted that the Alumni Offices on the school campus had been
refurbished. However, they still needed items like, Computers, Printers Fax machines and other general office
needs. Members are encouraged to help out in one way or another older equipment, cash donations, etc.
4. Website (http://accraacaalumni.com)
Membership is growing About 500 members.
The website administrator , Richard Antwi-Boasiako will be updating the email chain with new members.
We discussed the popularity of the bleoogroups chat room (bleoogroups@msn.com) and how we could integrate that
concept of having members interact live on the alumni website. There was concern about abuse of this feature.
However it will be considered as a future project.
5. Jubilee Program
3 of the members present at the meeting were fortunate to have been in Ghana to witness some of the celebrations.
Gilbert Boateng and Richard Antwi-Boasiako gave us their impressions. Prof. Ebo Quainoo gave a speech during the
occasion and he gave us his observations. He had earlier started an educational fund and was there to have
a personal interaction with some of the recipients.
The 75 year group was said to have done a very great job.
Gilbert Boateng had taken some pictures and they were yet to be developed and posted on the website.
6. Association Formation
Formation of the body and opening a bank account was again discussed. We were going to get more information
regarding the requirement and the possibilities of getting some items like postage for free. Christian Fleischer
was going to get more details on that.
7. School / Alumni Needs.
New Dormitories.
Landscape improvement
Improving drainage system.
The above are just a few examples of some of the needs of the School/Alumni
Prof. Ebo Quainoo had to leave and the group took a short break to take some pictures.
8. Other Matters.
Strengthening and encouraging the use of the website.
Spreading the word about the association and trying to get others involved.
Christian Fleischer and Kenneth Kolembe brought out the issue of their year group 91.
This was the situation in 1993 where the student body went on a strike due to certain impositions on
the school body ( uniforms) and as a result of the friction that came out of this , the names of the Prefects
of that year group were struck out of the history books of the school. It was even noted that the most
recent school magazine didnt have the name of the prefect of that year group represented in the list of
all head prefects. More investigations and inquiries were to be conducted.
Meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:20pm.
More Music by Christian Fleischer (Saxophone and Piano) and Refreshments Courtesy of Crista and Christian
Fleischer and Richard Antwi-Boasiako. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
